Rockdale Library has marked 10 years at its current site, a decade in which Bayside Council says the library recorded more than 2.2 million visits and delivered 1,448 programs.
The current library opened in July 2016 and has become a local hub for reading, study, children’s activities, classes, workshops, events and access to community information.
What residents can use at the library
Council lists Storytime and Toddler Time, author talks, technology classes, creative workshops, film screenings, meeting spaces and study areas among the services available through Bayside Libraries.
That means the building serves different needs throughout the week, from families attending children’s sessions to students looking for study space and residents learning new skills.
Ten years at the current site
Council says the library has recorded more than 2.2 million visits and 1,448 programs over the decade. Those figures are Council totals and should not be read as the number of unique individual users.
The tenth-anniversary celebration included Storytime, crafts, a scavenger hunt, birthday cupcakes, local-history displays and a community photo competition.
A continuing local service
The anniversary itself has passed, but the library’s programs and facilities continue. That makes the milestone useful as more than a one-day event story: it highlights services residents can still access throughout the year.
Opening hours, individual program times and space availability can change, so residents should check the current Bayside Libraries information before making a special trip.
