Free water safety and CPR program returns for school holidays

Bexley North sessions will teach children and families practical water safety and emergency skills

Families can take part in a free water safety and CPR awareness program at Angelo Anestis Aquatic Centre in Bexley North during the school holidays.

The program is designed for children aged 5 to 16 and their families. Qualified aquatic professionals will cover water safety, CPR awareness, emergency response and practical survival skills.

The first week will run from Tuesday 29 September to Thursday 1 October. A second set of sessions will run from Tuesday 6 October to Thursday 8 October.

Two session times are available on each program day. Session one runs from 10.30am to noon, while session two runs from 11.30am to 1pm.

Bayside Council says the activities are designed to help children build confidence in and around water while giving families a better understanding of how to respond in an emergency.

The program will be held at Angelo Anestis Aquatic Centre, 98C Preddys Road, Bexley North. The centre has both indoor and outdoor swimming facilities.

Water safety becomes especially relevant as warmer weather arrives and families spend more time around pools and beaches. The sessions focus on practical skills and awareness rather than competitive swimming.

There is no charge to attend. Families interested in taking part should check the Bayside Council event page for current booking details and availability before travelling to the centre.

The school holiday program is one of several local activities available to families during the September and October break.
