Residents planning to visit Bayside’s Food and Wine Festival on Saturday 31 October can attend for free, with food stalls, boutique wines, local breweries, craft distilleries, live entertainment and cooking demonstrations scheduled at Mascot Memorial Park from 11am to 9pm.
The festival is part of Bayside Council’s Bayside Alive program. While general admission is free, food and drinks are sold separately and some workshops require payment and advance bookings.
When and where is the festival?
The event takes place on Saturday 31 October 2026, from 11am until 9pm, at Mascot Memorial Park, 149 Coward Street, Mascot, near the corner of Coward Street and Botany Road.
Council says no road closures are planned, but parking around the venue is limited and parking restrictions will be enforced. Visitors should consider their travel arrangements before leaving home.
Cooking demonstrations and tasting workshops
The program includes cooking demonstrations featuring Manu and Clarissa Feildel and pastry chef Anna Polyviou, alongside live music throughout the day.
Ticketed or bookable experiences listed by Council include cheese and gin pairing sessions with Three Blind Mice and Banks & Solander at 1pm, 4pm and 6pm; cocktail-making workshops with Scylla Distilling Co at 2pm and 5pm; and a cheese and wine pairing session with Anna Polyviou at 3pm.
Anyone interested in a particular workshop should check current places, prices and booking conditions on Bayside Council’s official event page before attending. Workshop availability can change.
What visitors need to know
Limited seating will be available. Council says visitors may bring their own chair or picnic blanket, as well as their own food. Small and medium-sized dogs are permitted on a leash.
The event site is mostly flat, with grass and paved surfaces. An accessible drop-off area will be available on Coward Street near the entrance, although Council says no additional accessible parking will be provided. People with specific accessibility requirements can contact Council on 1300 581 299.
Smoking and vaping are prohibited in the event area. The event is licensed: visitors cannot bring their own alcohol, and drinks purchased for consumption at the festival must be bought by the glass from licensed vendors. Identification is required for alcohol purchases by adults aged 18 and over.
What happens if the weather changes?
Council says weather updates will be posted to its website and social channels around 12 to 24 hours before the festival. Severe weather, including thunderstorms, lightning or extreme heat, could lead to cancellation.
For Mascot residents and visitors, the practical points are that entry is free, some activities need bookings, parking is limited and the event runs into the evening. Check the official festival details and workshop bookings for the latest arrangements.
