Update: NSW Police located the parents of a toddler found alone in Ramsgate after issuing an early-morning public appeal.
The boy was found alone on MacDonald Street at about 2.10am on Tuesday 1 September 2026. Officers from St George Police Area Command searched the surrounding area and asked the public for help identifying his parents or carers.
Parents located after police appeal
NSW Police later published an update confirming that the toddler’s parents had been found. The active appeal is therefore no longer current.
The child had been described by police as about two years old, of small build and approximately 100 to 120 centimetres tall. He was wearing a black T-shirt and black pants when he was located.
Why this story has been updated
Bayside News originally published the police appeal while officers were trying to locate the boy’s parents or carers. Leaving that appeal active after police confirmed they had been found could mislead readers and cause unnecessary concern.
This permanent version records both the original incident and the later NSW Police update.
